Available now from our Bandcamp page, Gentle Waves is a two volume collection of evolving ambient pieces recorded in November 2022 by Tim Lake (Statski). Sadly Tim passed away following a short illness earlier this year and this collection represents some of his final recordings. Volume one contains six tracks he curated himself from those November sessions, while volume two contains a further selection of material in the same vein.

This music was created predominantly on the guitar and uses looping techniques to create the evolving sounds that can be heard throughout. We are proud to be able to put together this collection that highlights a further facet of the diverse and distinctive ambient works released under the Statski name. Tim set up LR2 alongside his brother in 2017 and was responsible for a large amount of the music released on the label both through his solo works and also in collaboration on projects such as Secret Films, Tomorrow’s World and 91 Vibrations. He was also the in house producer for a number of other LR2 bands such as The Goodbye Look, Autumn Country and North Loop.

While Gentle Waves represents the final Statski recordings, we hope that select archive material will be made available in the future through a series of curated collections.
