Producer/composer Tim Lake worked with a number of bands from the 1980s onwards, both as a recording musician and as a live performer. His work ranged from the flexible improvisations of Dancing from the Neck Down to the machine-wrought precision of 91 Vibrations; surviving excursions into the world of prog rock on the way. All of these influences can be heard in his output as the solo artist Statski, where they informed an obsessive exploration of texture and atmospheres.

November 2023 saw the release of Gentle Waves a two album collection consisting primarily of evolving guitar textures created using looping techniques. Recorded a year earlier, these represent the last completed Statski project.

The music of Statski has featured on a range of radio and podcast shows including Resonance FM, The Independent Music Podcast, Toneshift, Unexplained Sounds and The Parish News.
